{"title":"Isle of Raasay Single Malt","description":"\u003cp\u003eOwned by R\u0026amp;B Distillers, the Isle of Raasay Distillery, situated on a remote Hebridean island with just 160 residents, is one of the most exciting new producers in the current wave of new Scottish distilleries, as well as being the first legal distillery on the island beginning production in late-2017. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eR\u0026amp;B Distillers was founded in 2014 by Alasdair Day and Bill Dobbie. The company started its operations at the Raasay distillery in September 2017 after receiving its distiller's licence. Prior to having sufficiently aged whisky, the distillery released \u003cem\u003eWhile We Wait\u003c\/em\u003e giving an indication of what was to come.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSourced from a Celtic Iron Age well, the water used during the distilling process has a high mineral content derived from the island's volcanic and sandstone rock. The whisky is distilled in copper pot stills and is matured in a variety of oak casks, producing approximately 200,000 litres of pure alcohol per year.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe distillery's flagship brand is Isle of Raasay Single Malt.
