DESCRIPTION
A small batch release from GlenAllachie in Speyside, first released in 2018 in their Cask Strength series. Batch 13, released in 2026, is matured for 10 years in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso casks to be married with spirit maturing in red wine barriques and American virgin oak barrels. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 59.8%. (Bottle size 70cl)
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Mocha, crystalised ginger and cinnamon, followed by mānuka honey and muscovado sugar, with treacle and maraschino cherries.
Palate: Cocoa, salted caramel and warmed honey, followed by baking spices, blood orange and molasses tart, with glazed blackberries and fig syrup on the finish.
Finish: Long and warming, with the sweetness of the palate slowly giving way to dried oak, toasted walnut and a final dusting of cracked black pepper.
