A rare release from the Dalwhinnie distillery in the Highlands, bottled as part of the famed Manager's Dram series. Distilled in 1997, matured for 12 years and bottled in October 2009 . Non-chillfiltered and bottled at a cask strength of 57.5%. (Bottle size 70cl)

NOTES FROM THE WB TEAM

The Manager’s Dram series dates back to the late 1980s, originating in 1987 when distillery managers from Scottish Malt Distillers (SMD) gathered for an internal tasting, each bringing a favourite cask from their distillery. The first official bottling was released in early 1988, with further casks selected annually, initially with multiple releases per year before settling into a single annual bottling. Each whisky was chosen by the distillery manager as a personal representation of their house style and bottled exclusively for staff of SMD and its successors, United Distillers and later Diageo. These releases were never available to the public and were sold to employees on condition they could not be resold while still employed. The series was eventually replaced by the Rare Malts Selection, which carried a similar small batch, cask strength philosophy to a broader audience.
