DESCRIPTION
Launched in August 2025, this limited release from Raasay marks a first for the distillery — and stands as their only global limited release of the year. Produced from a lightly peated spirit (20% peated, 80% unpeated) and fully matured in Marsala barriques, this bottling brings together two coastal terroirs: Raasay and Sicily. The casks used were sourced from one of Sicily’s oldest Marsala producers, renowned for maturing their wines over decades. These long-aged casks impart a nutty, dry, and deeply oxidative character, much like a dry sherry, adding complexity to Raasay’s signature balance of coastal freshness and layered sweetness. 12,300 bottles produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured, and bottled at a higher strength of 50.7%. (Bottle size 700ml)
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Rich and complex with notes of dried pear, apricots, and a gentle balsamic sweetness. Grape must, sweet, slight sharpness, parma violets.
Palate: Rounded and layered, with flavours of baked apples and pears, maple syrup, balsamic vinegar and ginger balanced with subtle dried fruit.
Finish: Long with a lingering soft smokiness, roasted coffee and gentle warming fruit.
