DESCRIPTION
A limited edition release from the Kilchoman Distillery on Islay, in their Port Cask Matured series. The third edition was matured for its full term in ruby port hogsheads, selected from two contrasting ages with the youngest being 6 years, and released in 2024. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a higher strength of 50%.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Sweet peat blends with red-berry fruits and a citrus edge, alongside cured meats and a hint of paprika/chorizo spice.
Palate: Jammy red fruits (strawberry, raspberry) transition into smoked ham, cigar-tobacco and bonfire ash; oily texture develops with oak notes coming through.
Finish: Lingering peat smoke and charcoal; red-fruit syrupy notes (plum, freeze-dried strawberry) persist; medium-long finish.
