Launched in 2021, a limited-edition from the Ardbeg distillery on Islay, originally released as an exclusive for members of the Ardbeg Committee. Created as a thought experiment by Ardbeg’s Master Distiller, Dr Bill Lumsden, to offer a younger, smokier alternative to their flagship 10yo expression. Matured for 8 years in a combination of primarily ex-bourbon casks and ex-sherry casks. Non-chillfiltered and bottled at 50.8%. (Bottle size 70cl)

Nose: A burst of charcoal, creosote, tar and treacle toffee, with hints of something vegetal, like fennel, celery and green peppers. Followed by milk chocolate, aniseed and woodsmoke.

Palate: A peppery mouthfeel with treacle toffee, aniseed, salted caramel chocolate, eucalyptus, and menthol. The pepperiness continues with sweeter flavours giving way to savoury notes like charcoal, smoked bacon, burnt toast and tar.

Finish: The aftertaste is long and lingering, with a suggestion of peppermint and clove.
