First released in 2008, Corryvreckan is now part of the core Ardbeg range. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and new French oak. It takes its name from the famous whirlpool that lies to the north of Islay. Non-chillfiltered and bottled at a higher strength of 57.1%. (Bottle size 70cl)

Nose: Tarry ropes, creosote and linseed oil along with waxy dark chocolate, warm blackcurrants and muscovado sugar. Heady, intense and powerful.

Palate: Deep, peppery and chewy, like a peppered steak soaked in pepper sauce. A tang of crispy seaweed, espresso coffee with rich melted dark fruits (blackcurrants, blueberries and cherries) and bitter almonds.

Finish: Long, deep and remaining powerful with chocolate coated cherries, coffee and hot pepper sauce.
