DESCRIPTION

Released in 2024 as the second in an ongoing annual series with each edition offering slightly different cask and/or age composition. Dun Cana (Dun meaning stronghold in Gaelic, and Cana being the legendary Norse prince who held the land in the Viking era) is produced from 53% peated and 47% unpeated spirit. Distilled in 2021, matured initially in American oak ex-Woodford Reserve rye casks and finished in a combination of Pedro Ximénez (50%) and Oloroso (50%) sherry quarter casks for six months before bottling in September 2024. 15,000 bottles were produced. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a higher strength of 52%. (Bottle size 70cl)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Peppery spice, dried sultanas, and hints of vanilla toffee.

Palate: Rich dried fruit, roasted nuts, and a touch of white pepper with sea salt.

Finish: Lingering salty chocolate and a light hint of aromatic wood smoke.
