DESCRIPTION
The inaugural release from Strathearn Distillery under the leadership of Douglas Laing, who acquired one of Scotland’s smallest distilleries in 2019. Produced using Maris Otter barley and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, virgin oak and sherry casks. Bottled from 32 casks, some distilled at Strathearn prior to the acquisition and others produced under Douglas Laing’s ownership. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 50%. (Bottle size 70cl)
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Distinct aromas of creamy malt, plus a fine, pronounced spice of oak and leather.
Palate: Sweet and creamy mouthfeel with clear notes of honey, butter cream, dried apricots and a hint of spices.
Finish: Warming on the finish - reminiscent of home-baked food and crunchy oatmeal cookies.
