DESCRIPTION

Released in 2025, this is the inaugural release in Lochlea’s new annual Red Wine Cask series, inspired by finishing their whisky in various red wine casks. For this first edition, the whisky was matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and then finished in Grenache red wine casks. Produced entirely on site in Ayrshire from the distillery’s own barley, distilled and matured on the Lochlea farm. Non-chillfiltered, naturally colour and bottled at 46%. (Bottle size 70cl)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Bright fresh pink berries, sweet and floral, some oak and tannins.

Palate: Fresh juicy red fruits, particularly berries and cherries, sweet vanilla and almond flavours like a strawberry shortcake.

Finish: Finishing with rich oak, cereal, tannins and spiced biscuits.
