DESCRIPTION

First released in 2018 MacNair's Lum Reek 12yo blended malt is a small-batch expression that combines peated and unpeated malts from Islay and Speyside. Created by industry veteran and Master Distiller Billy Walker, the name 'Lum Reek' comes from the Scottish toast 'lang may yer lum reek' (long may your chimney smoke) inspired by the brand’s creator, Glaswegian blender and distiller Harvey MacNair, who founded his company in 1937. Matured at The GlenAllachie distillery in a combination of first-fill ex-bourbon, Pedro Ximénez sherry and red wine casks. Bottled at 46%. (Bottle size 70cl)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Sweet peat reek, butterscotch, warming mocha, and gentle nutmeg.

Palate: Lashings of heather honey, rich toffee, and sweet spices, all with undertones of peat.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering notes of peat.
