DESCRIPTION

A single malt release from the Mortlach distillery in Speyside, bottled by independent bottler Gordon & Macphail as part of their Distillery Labels range. Matured for 15 years in a combination of first-fill and refill ex-sherry casks. Bottled at 46%. (Bottle size 70cl)

OFFICIAL TASTING NOTES

Nose: Distinctly malty initially with fresh aromas of a woodland hedgerow. Delicate sherry notes linger and weave with rich indulgent toffee, sweet liquorice, and orange marmalade.

Palate: Reminiscent of a Black Forest cake; the initial sweetness develops into fruity blackcurrant jam, maraschino cherry, and creamy vanilla. Freshly peeled orange notes add a fresh lift.

Finish: Well rounded; hints of candied citrus fruits and oak complement the lingering malty edge.
