DESCRIPTION
Spey Oddity is a small batch release from an undisclosed Speyside distillery, bottled by independent bottler Uncharted Whisky Company. Distilled in 2013 and matured for 12 years, this vatting of two casks combines a Moscatel cask with a Mezcal cask, bottled in 2025. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at a higher strength of 55%. (Bottle size 70cl)
OFFICIAL TASTING NOTES
Nose: Juicy melon and ripe peach lead the way, lifted by delicate rose petals and fresh pear, with a whisper of mezcal smoke tasting as if it might have been matured in an ex-peated cask.
Palate: Moscatel introduces honey alongside dried fig, the waft of opening a kitchen spice cupboard, and more distinct warming cloves. All mellowing lovely into the earthy Mezcal cask.
Finish: A long, opulent finish with gentle smoke, lingering sweetness, and a twist of orange rind. It's a class act.
